Chain bucket elevators are mostly applied at the enterprises of fat and oil industry, where transport elements are subject for increased requirements for oil resistance at the temperature of transported product about 80 degrees.


Bush roller chains are applied for transportation of loose oil-containing products of sunflower processing, soybean oil seed, oil cake, oil meal. Anchor chains for transportation of liquid processing fraction oil sludge.

Chain bucket elevators are designed for vertical product transportation at the grain elevators, flour mills and other grain processing enterprises.


Bucket elevators are designed for operation in the technological process with continuous operation regime, both indoors and outdoors. Climatic version U, environmental class 3 in accordance with National State Standard GOST 15150.

Structure and Functioning


Bucket elevator -100 consists of the following parts: boot 1 (fig.1), head 2, straight elevator pipes 3, tension pipe with inspection hatch 4, pipe for overload sensor 5 and two additional elevator pipes 6, which height depends on elevator total height. Chain 7 with operating parts buckets is applied as a pulling element.


Elevator boot consists of welded casing and two wheels. Wheels with shaft are installed in bearings housings, which are articulated with cargo box that provides chain tension by load weight. Bucket elevator is equipped with sensor -03, which is applied with device for technological speed control -1, for speed control and chain slippage.


Elevator head consists of housing, which consists of two covers and framework connected together; drive wheels with shaft, drive, backstop. Platform with drive, which is connected with operating wheels shaft by clutch, is fixed in the lower part of the elevator head housing, from the left or from the right, when looking from the side of elevator loading, depending on the technological scheme. Gearbox with electric motor connected by V-belt transmission is applied as a drive. Breaking device is provided on the head shaft to avoid belt back drive in case of elevator hitch, therefore it is necessary to check drive shaft rotation direction.


Control baffle is mounted in the head lower part to eliminate material back lagging.


The main pulling and operating element of the bucket elevator is heavy duty round-link chain with fixed buckets. Chain passes in elevator pipes, passes around drive and tension wheels of head and boot.


Elevator pipes serve as casing for chain with buckets and made in the form of rectangular pipes with flanges for fastening with each other. Pipe with overload sensor is installed over the boot to avoid blockage by the transported product. Special inspection pipe is installed for periodic inspection and installation of buckets and chain.


Product is supplied to the elevator boot inlet nozzle by gravity flow pipes. Then it is picked up by buckets and supplied to the specified height to bucket elevator head, where under the influence of centrifugal acceleration force of gravity of the transported product buckets are unloaded and by gravity flows in accordance with technological scheme.
