Batch operated horizontal scraping-blade mixer ZSL-4000 is designed for mixing of compound feed components after batch dosing. Size of individual mixing components should be in the range of 0,1 to 3,0 mm. Mixer can be applied at the animal feed production plants and for production of enrichment mixtures.


There is also N-ZSL-4000 model designed for mixing of food concentrates or premixes. Mixer details, which contact with mixing products, are made of stainless steel.

Structure and Functioning

  

Mixer consists of the following elements:

body - 1;

rotor - 2;

drive - 3;

bomb door - 4;

bomb door pneumatic drive - 5;

bomb door lock against opening - 6.


Body-1 is represented by steel welded construction of semi-cylindrical shape. Windows closed with the covers are designed in the side walls of mixer body. Covers are interlocked with electric motor limit switchers and designed for repair works, visual inspection and periodic cleaning of mixer from the inside by scraping or pneumatic tools.


DO NOT turn off the limit switches on the covers during operating and maintaining the mixer. DO NOT continue to operate the mixer in case of limit switches failure.

   

Rotor-2 is represented by shaft with 6 paddles (scrapers). Blades are installed with special angles that ensure intensive mixing of loading product. Rotor shaft is supported by bearings installed on the mixer body.


Drive-3 provides specified rotor speed from the electric motor through reduction unit by pin coupling.


Unloading bomb door-4 consists of two shutters bent along the radius with welded blades and strengthening ribs. Shutters are fixed by levers on the shafts. Bomb door shutters opening and closing is provided by pneumatic cylinders of bomb door pneumatic drive-5, which, by means of levers and key connections, rotate shutters about axis of the shafts installed in the bearing blocks to the required rotation angle, which corresponds to the position: open and closed.


Bomb door lock against opening consists of the locks installed on the shaft, which close bomb door against opening during product mixing. Locks operate synchronously and are driven by pneumatic cylinder, which rod is pushed to the stop in initial condition, when shutters are closed. Shutters operation concept is as follows. Pneumatic cylinders rods are pushed to the stop in the initial condition – shutters are closed. On the command of control system, pneumatic distributor is switched, rod of the lock pneumatic cylinder is shut, turning the locks and releasing the shutter 1. Then stock of the shutter 1 drive pneumatic cylinder is pushed to the stop, opening the shutter, then stock of the shutter 2 drive pneumatic cylinder is pushed, opening shutter 2. After mixer unloading, closing of the shutters is occurred in reverse order. Lock against opening has adjustments to prevent shutters poor closing in case of product sticking.


Operation concept of the mixer is as follows: ingredients entering to the mixing bin are storing up until a portion/level is reached, then dosed components are manually loaded (short loading time prevents delamination of components), in the mixer body, components under rotation of the rotor are subjected to intensive back mixing by paddles. On expiration of mixing time, bomb doors open and resulting mixture is directed to the discharge point from the body. Unloading control is carried out manually or using automation/computer.
