Structure and Functioning


The machine (fig.1) consists of frame 14 on which body 1 is fixed, rotor with hammers 3 installed in the bearing housing assemblies 11, bin 5 or crusher (depending on the ordered complete set), deck plate 9, screen frame with screen 10, door 2.


Electrical equipment of the hammer mill includes electric motor of the rotor drive, electric motor of the crusher drive (if it is included into the complete set).


Bin is designed for uniform fed of the product to the crushing chamber.


Crusher is designed for preliminary grinding of mineral raw materials to the max. size 20 mm.


Feeder is equipped with gate valve, which is shifted by ball screw and handwheel. Due to the gate valve product supply may be closed or adjusted manually.


Hammer rotor is the basic operating part of the machine. It is made in the form of a shaft, supported by two self-aligning spherical deep groove ball bearings. Discs tightened by tightening axles are installed on the shaft through spacer sleeves. Washers, which are installed on spacer sleeves of tightening axles, serve to limit the movement of hammers along the axes of their suspension. Basic sizes of installed hammers are specified at fig.4.


Operation concept of the hummer mill is as follows: product is supplied to the bin, if the crusher is included to the complete set, preliminary grading is occurred in the crusher, after distribution over the entire width product is supplied to the grinding chamber and to the rotor hammers. Hammers, striking the mineral raw materials, break the product. Broken particles of mineral raw materials spill through the screen of the screen frame down the machine and are removed from the hammer mill by gravity through outlet nozzle.
